Most people travelling in Rwanda will find themselves overnighting here in order to make international flight connections. Yet the city offers a certain charm, of the country of the Mille Collines - the country of the Thousand Hills as the city is stretched over a number of hills and its attractions should not be missed on any visit to Rwanda, as it will also allow you to understand more about the country.
The protected area that contains the gorillas is spread across three countries ... in Rwanda it is the Parc National de Volcans, whilst on the Uganda side is Mgahinga National Park. The DRC portion can be visited now too.
